Hi music lovers!
I’m so very sorry this post has taken a while to be uploaded. I’v recently started a new job which has taken up a lot of my time the past few weeks, but hoping to get back on track with my blog now.
Right… this week I’m taking a step away from my favourite bands and artists to talk about one of my new friends vlog. Ray, from Chain of Scars (an awesome rock band originating from Holland) has started a new weekly vlog in which I am honoured to say he was inspired to start by myself.
Take a look at his first vlog below 🙂 :
In Ray’s initial vlog there was one question that stood out to me that I want to focus on this week which many people fear; ‘maybe rock is dead?’
My answer and opinion on this is NO. I don’t believe for one second that rock is dead and it never will be. This worry and concern for rock music is very common around the globe but there is no need to fear the demise of the rock genre and I’ll give you one good reason why.
Over the many decades of the evolving rock genre there have been a collection of bands and artists that have shaped the world of music through their lyrics and compositions, going on to become some of the world’s most prestigious artists of all time. These would include:
- Disturbed
- Metallica
- Eagles
- The Beatles
- Led Zeppelin
- Pink Floyd
- Nirvana
- The Rolling Stones
- Aerosmith
- Black Sabbath
- Queen
- Meatloaf
- Bon Jovi
- Iron Maiden and many many more!
I can tell you that rock will never die! As long as the material and influence these bands and artists have had on the genre lives on throughout the world then rock will always live on…! Anyway, rock music has become a mainstream phenomenon within the music industry, even in the present era of the likes of One Direction. ROCK MUSIC IS IN CONTROL!
From developing away from a niche market to becoming a global, iconic genre that is continuing to evolve then the extent of the rock music industry has no worries what so ever. Let the legends and their music live on and so shall rock.
Ray, you have nothing to worry about. Rock music will always be a part of the world… keep doing what you love and one day Chain of Scars could be joining the list above 😉
That’s all for this post guys, sorry it’s a short one but I just wanted to reassure you all that rock music is going nowhere so long as we believe in it and continue the legacies of the above artists and bands.
Until next time my rocks 😉 xoxo
I agree with you 100% , the media have manipulated the image of rock music and are releasing more factory built bands who hold a specific image, sound and style that they know will sell. It doesn’t matter if their passion is rock music or not, it’s rarely articulated in rock bands today with a few being an exception. It seems to be that rock music is one specific sound and that’s that. What happened to the passion and life revolved around rock music, that needs to be brought back! With the vast monoploisation of rock music is is possible to achieve this but its the media and the industries that are taking what they are given and moulding them into something they are not in order to make them more of a hit and to materialise rock music.
This isn’t the case for a handful of rock bands to this day but back in the 70s, 80’s and 90’s that was when rock peaked and as long as younger generations realise that and keep that alive then rock music stands a pretty good change of being around for a very long time 🙂
Thank you for your comment Elias 🙂 Hope all is well in the devlopment of Chain of Scars x

On YouTube I see a lot of young people playing rock music and that I really like 🙂 They also discovered the rock music from the 70’s 80’s and 90’s. It’s the radio and TV who killed the rock music because nowadays music is all about the money (like everything), they search for idols so people buy lots of stuff from that idol, but it’s al temporarily…. I hope channels like Google+ and YouTube and even your blog will keep rock alive and give young people the chance to explore rock music. Just keep sharing that ROCK MUSIC people!!!! \m/
Keep up the good work Adrianne!!
